COSTUME
You are probably wondering whether you'll wear a costume on the night, so here's a few reasons why you should:
1. We are trying for the largest gathering in Canberra of people splattered with special FX, and if we get that there's a chance IZAD will make the news.
2. There are giveaways and prizes for only those dressed in zombie attire.
And 3. Come on, everyone’s going dead including the bands and DJs!
The question remains what to wear? This year's IZAD is not only zombie themed, but is also 50s focused. A time of big quiffs, rockabilly tunes and milk shakes at the diner. Come as a greaser zombie, a drop dead prom queen, a brain-dead jock, or maybe a rotten rebel.
You probably do not have this type of gear lying around the home, but it's easy to find this stuff cheaply if you know where to check. Op-shops generally sell things that are out dated and sometimes you'll find something so old that it'd suit bygone eras, plus it's all so cheap. If you like the rockabilly look and want to spend a bit of money, there are shops around that sell appropriate gear. Check out Raven or, if you're in Sydney, Industrial Strength and Faster Pussycat, for a range of awesome greaser gear.
