What is Penny Dreadful?
We are a response to the ever increasing inertia the creative community is suffering from. There are two choices in life and that is to ride it out with talk or to do something about it. Penny Dreadful is that something. It is the independent production company currently working self sufficiently on a number of projects, including the feature film “Local”.
Started in 2008 by Liam Jennings & Bryn Cummin, our company saw the merging of a diverse range of talents. This has lead to the development of our in-house production style, allowing for the production of shorts, and now features, as quickly as possible, while maintaining high creative quality.
To achieve the smooth flowing in-house structure, our company is made up of several different divisions, and is a division itself, of a number of businesses. Here is a brief overview of the resources and skills we have at our disposal:
Meatlocker FX House – All effects for our short films and features are created and applied by our FX division. Whether it be prosthetics, moving FX, or prop design, Meatlocker has experience in almost all forms of practical special effects.
Stationery Target – The design group behind this website and all advertising that is involved in our film, events and company promotion. Skilled in both screen and print, Stationery Target have extensive experience with photography, typesetting, web design, and post effects.
Zom.B Wear – A division of Stationery Target, this is the clothing label used for our shirts and also encompasses our work with costume design, fabrication and hire.
Postermortem.com – The ever expanding hub of support and information for not just Penny Dreadful, but soon to be all divisions.
